I am a contemporary artist and maker living in Wales. I create sculptural installations using simple materials and found objects. I use structure, rhythm, repetition, and simplicity to explore the physical possibilities and aesthetic potential of my materials. My aesthetic is shaped by my experience of emigration to Australia in the nineteen-fifties. I spent my formative years in Canberra where my father was an architect and my mother an artist and homemaker. At that time Canberra was an emerging new city with a strong emphasis on contemporary architecture. Its relative remoteness resulted in a vibrant homegrown cultural life, including music, drama, art, and ceramics. These elements of my early life have been influential in an art practice that is grounded in three-dimensional space, materials, and surfaces.
I am a trained garden designer and have an interest in modern architecture, design, ceramics, and textiles.
I completed my MA in Fine Art at the School of Art in Aberystwyth in 2021. I am a member of the London-based contemporary arts collective, Future Conditional.
